Ontario Road Safety Forum
Room 202, Galbraith Building, 35 St. George Street
University of Toronto
9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (registration: 8:30 a.m.)
April 30, 2020
Six Ontario Road Safety Forums have been held over the past 3 years and were each attended by 55 to 80 people, each representing a broad range of road safety interests (e.g., MTO, Transport Canada, City of Toronto, Region of Waterloo, Peel Region, Hospital for Sick Children, Public Health, Toronto Police, Peel Regional Police, O.P.P., Traffic Injury Research Foundation, MADD, CAA, Parachute, graduate students and professors of Ryerson, Toronto, Waterloo, Lakehead, Western, and York universities, consultants, etc.).
The Forum’s objective is to create a networking event with an emphasis on evidence-based road safety. The feedback has been very positive and now we are organizing another forum to take place on April 30th, 2020. This 7th Forum will once again take place in the Galbraith Building at the University of Toronto, Room GB 202.
We are in the process of preparing the agenda, and your participation is most welcome.
Presentations and Speakers
We plan on having nine 5-minute presentations, each followed by a 5-minute discussion period, on a subject of the presenter’s choice. Please send Geni Bahar (email@example.com) an email if you would like to deliver a short presentation with the topic name and a short description as soon as possible but no later than February 24th. The first nine proposed and appropriate presentations will be added to the agenda. Additional guidance will be provided to each accepted presenter.
If you are interested in delivering a longer 10-15 minute presentation on an evidence-based road safety study or project, please provide Geni (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the topic name and a short description as soon as possible but no later than February 24th so that we can consider it during the planning of the other meeting sessions.
There will be a $35 registration fee to cover morning coffee and pastries, mid-morning coffee, lunch, and afternoon juice and pop (whether you consume them or not). Please pay by Interac E-transfer (see your on-line banking) to email@example.com. Enter “Fee from your name and email address for Ontario Road Safety Forum” in the Message box (so we can record receipt of your fee) and then click on “print” when you complete your E-transfer to produce a receipt. If you need to create a security question, it can be “name of city forum held” with answer “Toronto”.
Please enroll as soon as possible; enrollment will close on April 14th. Please note that if room capacity is reached as happened last fall, enrollment will need to be closed earlier.
For any questions, please send an email to Geni at firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on April 30th, 2020.
