UT-ITE’s Annual General Meeting & Elections

UT-ITE’s Annual General Meeting and Elections will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. If you would like to run for one of these positions or would like to nominate someone, fill out this form by Monday, April 4:

At the meeting, we will be reviewing our chapter’s activities for the year and presenting our financial statement.

In addition, we will be holding elections for the following four executive positions for the 2022-2023 academic year:

  1. The President is responsible for maintaining contact with the student chapter faculty advisor and ITE Toronto, sits on the alumni committee’s board, enforces the provisions of the chapter’s charter and by-laws, presides at meetings, and supervises all chapter activities.
  • This position is currently held by Usman Ahmed.
  1. The Vice-President supports the president with administrative duties and presides at meetings at which the president is not in attendance.
  • This position is currently held by Mahia Anhara.
  1. The Financial Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and acts as a signing authority for the UT-ITE bank account.
  • This position is currently held by Omar ElSamadisy.
  1. The Administrative Officer is responsible for recording minutes for all meetings, keeping track of membership including ITE status, and any other administrative tasks as required.
  • This position is currently held by Mohammad Amin Abedini.

We are also looking for volunteers for the following non-elected positions:

  1. Communications Director: Maintaining our website and creating marketing material.
  • This position is currently held by Alec Mak.
  1. Undergraduate Representative: Maintaining contact with undergraduate student chapters, and help in event organization
  • This position is currently held by Parsa Bondar Sahebi.

Apart from these specific tasks, all members contribute to seminar and event planning. If you would like to volunteer for any of the non-elected positions contact Usman Ahmed directly.

Anyone running for office must be a registered as a full-time student during the 2022-2023 academic year. You may run for more than one position, but can only hold one position. On the day of the election, anyone running for office will have the opportunity to make a one-minute speech. If  you are unable to attend the AGM, but would like to run for office, you may submit a Statement of Intent to be read by the Elections Chair or another member at the AGM.
