UTTRI mourns the passing of Professor Ralph Haas, an iconic figure in transportation engineering, specifically in the area of pavement design and asset management. His half-a-century long career has many benchmarking achievements and played a pivotal role in developing a community of transportation engineering in Canada. Development of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Foundation is one of his many key contributions. He will be remembered as an exemplary Canadian transportation researcher who not only contributed to the research, but also gave back to the profession in various ways.
