Congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Sina Bahrami (CivE PhD 2019) on joining the faculty at the Department of the Built Environment at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e), Netherlands, as an assistant professor.
Sina holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from the Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Matthew Roorda. His thesis is entitled “Impacts of Autonomous Vehicles on Parking and Congestion.”
After completing his PhD, Sina worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Toronto before accepting a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Michigan in January, 2020.
He completed his MSc in Transportation Engineering and BSc in Civil Engineering at the Sharif University of Technology.
His research has received media attention in outlets including Forbes, Global News, and Tech Xplore.
Sina begins his new position at TU/e on September 1, 2021. He will be part of the Urban Planning and Transportation group with a research focus on the optimal planning and design of emerging mobility systems and services in smart cities with electric and automated vehicles.
