The Regional Transportation Systems Management and Operations Committee (AHB10) 2019 Best Paper Award went to “Development and Implementation of a Multi-Level Roadway Segmentation Methodology” by Dr. Reza Omrani, Transportation Safety Engineer at True North Safety Group (with CIMA+ at the time of paper submission); UTTRI associated faculty Professor Amer Shalaby, University of Toronto; Goran Nikolic, Head Manager, Traffic Planning, Simulation and Special Events, Ontario Ministry of Transportation; and Dr. Alireza Hadayeghi, Partner and Vice President Transportation, CIMA+.

The paper was presented at the 2019 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting and published in the TRB’s Transportation Research Record. AHB10’s Catherine McGhee and Haitham Al-Deek presented award certificates to two of the paper’s four co-authors, Professor Amer Shalaby and Dr. Alireza Hadayeghi. Co-authors Dr. Reza Omrani and Goran Nikolic were not available.

The winning paper was announced at the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting (TRBAM) in Washington, DC, January 15, 2020.
