Didi Chuxing Technology Company (DiDi), the world’s largest ride-sharing service, officially launched its DiDi Labs in Toronto on November 19. DiDi has research labs in China and Silicon Valley and recently selected Toronto as the location of its third lab.
A big part of Didi’s motivation for opening up a Toronto lab is to facilitate collaborative research with U of T.
DiDi’s VP and Head of Didi Labs, Dr. Fengmin Gong, gave the talk “Taming Technologies & Transforming Transportation” early in the afternoon.
Later in Governing Council Chambers, the University of Toronto and DiDi signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering a four-year term.
