Rebecca Nelson reports on the transfer experience for transit users

The transfer experience has room for improvement, according to researcher Rebecca Nelson, who recently completed a study for  Metrolinx entitled Intermodal Connectivity at Gateway Hubs.

Nelson’s recommendations to make transfers easier, faster, and more pleasant for users include:

  • improved wayfinding, including maps and signs
  • better-marked pedestrian routes
  • more amenities, such as seating
  • protections from harsh winter conditions
