Strategies to achieve deep reductions in metropolitan transportation GHG emissions: the case of Philadelphia” by Mohamad-Kenan Al-Rijleh, Ahsan Alam, Romano Foti, Patrick L. Gurian, Sabrina Spatari and Marianne Hatzopoulou is cited in the November 30 post of the Drexel University News Blog. Teams from University of Toronto and Drexel University in Philadelphia worked together on the case study and the resulting paper.

Among the paper’s results was valuable practical advice that could help Philadelphia and other cities reach their clean-air goals and cut down on traffic. For example, increasing use of public transit and numbers of electric vehicles (that use electricity from renewable sources) will reduce emissions.
