Professor Heather MacLean was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)  on June 26, 2017.

Select engineers of outstanding abilities are chosen by CAE for this honour. CAE President Douglas Ruth stated: “While they have widely varying backgrounds, what they all have in common is the demonstrated ability to go beyond the normal practice of engineering and contribute in exemplary ways towards their fields and to their communities.”

Members of the CAE are nominated and elected by their peers to honorary Fellowships, in view of their distinguished achievements and career-long service to the engineering profession. Fellows of the CAE are committed to ensuring that Canada’s engineering expertise is applied to the benefit of all Canadians.
