The Fields Institute will host the interdisciplinary Smart Villages Conference June 22-24, bringing together academic researchers from the mathematical and physical sciences, the social sciences, engineering, as well as from industry.
Among the wide variety of speakers are several UTTRI associated faculty. Speaking on Wednesday, June 26 are:
- Shauna Brail from 11:05 to 11:25 “Socially Responsible Innovation: Leveraging Ride-hailing’s Potential in the Context of Smart Cities and Smart Villages”
- Greg Evans from 14:00 to 14:20, “Breathe in the Air: Reflections on Smart Villages”
- Mark Fox from 14:50 to 15:10, “Towards an Evolutionary Theory of Cities and Villages”
The Smart Villages Conference is co-chaired by V.I. (Lucky) Lakshmanan, Canada India Foundation and Process Research ORTECH Inc. and Professor Kumar Murty, Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto.
