Selected Professional Appointments
Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Geomatics and Environment, University of Toronto Mississauga
Dr. Adams’ research background is in environmental analysis. His research group examines human exposure to environmental pollutants. They are experts in urban monitoring including the development of real-time and passive observations networks. These data are used to support our understanding of air pollution intervention strategies, human exposure, and population health outcomes.
His group’s focus is individuals’ exposure to air contaminants in the urban environment.
Research outputs cross between the social and natural sciences, leveraging and advancing spatial analysis; while helping to understand social science problems, such as examining the relationship of human behaviour and the built environment on exposure.
Specialty Focus Areas
Urban air pollution; near-road air quality; air pollution exposure.
