An opinion piece by UTTRI associated faculty Professors Matti Siemiatycki and Shoshanna Saxe on making the most of transit project funding was published in the Toronto Star, May 21, 2021.
Siemiatycki and Saxe applaud the recent “record investments in new public transit infrastructure” but caution that it’s important that “all of the money being committed to major transit projects is well spent.”
“What is needed now is one final push to make sure the priority projects on the drawing board for Toronto are appropriately designed and integrated with adjacent land use plans to catalyze transit-oriented equitable communities.”
